My family and I just got back from two trips! We went to Santa Claus, Indiana and Branson, Missouri. It was an absolute blast! We had some great products that made the driving trip and vacation easy. Traveling with kids can be a bit stressful sometimes. When you have the right “tools” with you it can make traveling a little easier.
A must-have for traveling, weather it is by plane, train or automobile is a kid suitcase. My kids LOVE to pull around their own suitcase. They look adorable while doing it too. The Wildlife Trolley Suitcases by Lassig is my favorite suitcase for my little ones. My three year old son has the dinosaur suitcase (he is into dinos big time). They have lots of fun designs and colors to choose from. It comes with an extra bag that we used for dirty clothes. I also like that it has a lot of pockets for extra storage. We always take way more than we need on vacation and this suitcase fits it all. These are available online from Amazon.
Games are necessities when we travel. We play a lot of games that we can play as a family. HABA’s Mix and Match Robbers does not take up a lot room and the kids had a great time playing. In the game, use your best detective skills to match (and catch) the most bad guys and you win! This fast-paced matching game is for 2-4 players ages 4 years and up. Available online at HABA USA!
Some other essentials:
-The Claessens’ Kid’Sleep Globetrotter is the perfect night light and sleep trainer for young children and an alarm clock for older children. If the sleeping sheep is lit, kids know to stay in bed. When the awake sheep is illuminated, it is okay to get out of bed. I could have definitely used this, as my kids were early risers throughout the entire vacation.
-When driving I am always turning around to make sure the kids are doing okay. The Zooby Car and Home video baby monitor with the new large 4.3″ split screen version a parent can even view 2 rear facing infants in the back seat of the car. The monitor is 100% wireless, includes night vision, rechargeable batteries, and all accessories necessary to use anywhere you and your baby go! Available in 4 plush styles: Diego the Dinosaur, Jordan the Giraffe Zachary the Zebra, and Emma the Unicorn.
-Protect your valuable car seat from grease, dirt and germs (or loss!) when checking it at the airplane gate with the original Gate Check Bag for Car Seats by J.L. Childress. Durable, compact and lightweight, this handy bag fits almost all styles of convertible car seats, booster seats and infant carriers. Plus, its bright red color and large “gate check” graphic help to ensure safe return of your item to the airplane gate after your flight!
–HABA’s Play Wrap Happy Trails offers plenty of stimulating sounds and textures that are sure to entertain babies, wherever they are. Easily attaches to car seats and cribs to offer endless entertainment. Little car shape includes squeaker.
-The Chic Cowl Nursing Top from Udderly Hot Mama is a must-have for your travel wardrobe. Drapey and flattering, this cowl neck shirt makes breastfeeding and pumping stylish and effortless by simply pulling down the cowl. The soft fabric has excellent stretch and will bounce right back into shape. The patent-pending inside flap, included in every Udderly Hot Mama® nursing garment, provides extra privacy during a feeding. Available Colors: Coral, Black, Heather Gray, Purple.
-A place for everything and… Keep toys, games, books, and supplies safely within arm’s reach with the Lassig Car Wrap to Go Seat Organizer. You should see our car when we are traveling stuff is everywhere. This would have been very helpful.
-Snacking on-the-go no longer mean disastrous back seat messes thanks to The Original Squeeze. With a patented, spill-proof nipple, The Original Squeeze is perfect portable pouch for babies 6 months and older to enjoy fresh, home-made foods anytime, anywhere! Then wash and reuse, saving money and the environment.
