This past week in my son’s preschool they focused on oral hygiene. They made giant toothbrushes, talked about how important it was to brush your teeth and even had a dentist come into the classroom to give out new toothbrushes!
Hayden was so excited and all week has been talking about brushing his teeth and he loved his new toothbrush. When I told him that I had a new toothpaste for him to try, he couldn’t wait!
When I first bought toothpaste for my toddler, I didn’t really think too much into it. I just bought whatever toothpaste has a fun character on it and knew it would entice him to actually brush his teeth. Now that Hayden {and I!} have tried Tom’s of Maine Anti-cavity Silly Strawberry Toothpaste, there’s no way I could have him go back to another kind.
Tom’s of Maine Anti-cavity Silly Strawberry Toothpaste is the first and only natural kid’s toothpaste to earn the American Dental Association’s Seal of Acceptance for cavity prevention. The Silly Strawberry Toothpaste has no artificial dyes or sweeteners and the strawberry flavor actually is derived from strawberry extracts and other natural flavors.
Hayden’s favorite fruit is strawberries and he was a little surprised that the toothpaste wasn’t red or pink but once he started brushing his teeth, he said that it was good and his teeth felt “all clean”!
Hayden loves to brush his teeth now and the fact that they gave attention to it at school really has made him wanting to brush his teeth nonstop! If you have a child that is hesitant to brush their teeth, check out these fun tips:
– Brush your teeth along with your child so they see how much fun it is!
– Brush your child’s doll or action figure’s teeth first! {We do this sometimes with his lovey still!}
– Allow your child to brush their teeth first and then follow up to make sure they didn’t miss anything!

We use the same toothpaste for our 2 year old. He LOVES it, sometimes I catch him just trying to eat it!
He is just so cute! But wait, I think the toothpaste looks pink. You don’t?
We were thinking it looked pretty white – or maybe because I was expecting it to be very pink or red?
