Earlier this year during Meet the Teacher Night, my son’s teacher encouraged parents to buy our children tablets. Say, what?! Yes, my son absolutely loves playing with tablets at home but his teacher wanted them to be able to bring it to school too. Our school district is a BYOD {Bring Your Own Device} school, where they encourage students to bring in their own device, whether it be a laptop or a tablet. By buying a tablet when they are young, you’re making an investment into their future – they even have coding classes at his school! I’m excited to partner with Microsoft on this post to bring you a little bit more information on why you should buy a tablet for your child!
So ever since Hayden found out that his teacher encourages his class to bring in their own tablets, he’s been begging me to get one of his own. For awhile, it’s been a cost thing for my husband and I. We wanted to get him a quality tablet that he would be able to use for the next few years and something that wouldn’t break in a few months, like so many other “kid’s tablets” do. But when I saw the , I knew we couldn’t resist getting Hayden a tablet for Christmas. Even better, you can actually take advantage of this deal BEFORE Black Friday and from the comfort of your own home!
Right now, you can get the for only $99 from Microsoft Store or What a huge deal! If you’ve been wanting to buy your child a tablet too {or even just wanting to get yourself one} this is the time to get it as it’s available now through the holidays while supplies last.
Ah, isn’t it a beauty? It’s the perfect gift for me my son! A tablet really is perfect for him because it’s easily portable for him to transfer in his backpack from home to school. With a sharp, 7-inch HD screen, the HP Stream 7 Signature Edition Tablet is perfect for those bright games that young kids like to play. Or Minecraft.
For school work, the HP Stream 7 Signature Edition Tablet comes with Office 365 Personal (with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and 1TB of OneDrive online storage, which is a $69.99 value, all for FREE. The free inclusion of Office will only be available throughout the holiday season as long as supplies last. You’ll only be able to get the offer of FREE Office through the holidays though.
I also love that the HP Stream 7 Signature Edition tablet is fine-tuned for fast performance from the second you turn it on. It’s protected with premium, free anti-virus software that won’t expire – how awesome is that? There’s nothing I hate most than that annoying pop-up saying your anti-virus software is out of date. And perfect for kids, it comes without any annoying junkware or trialware meaning your child’s tablet will always be fast, clean and protected.
If you’ve been wanting to get your child a tablet {or you!}, check out the HP Stream 7 Signature Edition tablet, available from Microsoft Store or for only $99. This is the perfect gift for my son for the holidays and I know he will be so excited to bring his own device to school now!

Looks like a nice tablet. My son has a generic one and I would love to replace it with a better one. The price is not bad.

What a fantastic price! I think that some people have the impression that tablets have to be super expensive, but they don’t! Definitely going to take a closer look at these for my boys.

Wow! That’s crazy cheap for a tablet! Definitely a price I feel more comfortable when I’m still not sure how they will be about taking care of it and being gentle.

Wow! So awesome! It’s a great little tablet, but NOT FOR A KID. Let’s be honest here folks: not all tablets are created equal. One of the great things about iPads and Android tablets is that the OS is bomb-proof. Little Connor or Suzie can hammer away at it all they want, and worst case scenario is that they’ll log you out of your wireless network, or maybe delete your Pinterest app…
But a Windows tablet for a kid? C’mon. I have enough trouble teaching adults not to go and delete all the .DLL files from the Windows system directory … or reminding them that they need to shut their machines down properly rather than just powering them off suddenly & corrupting their filesystem.
As for anti-virus apps: we all know they are only effective to a point. All it takes is for one little virus to get through and Connor/Suzie’s tablet is going to start introducing them to a whole different part of the internet that you *don’t* want your kids on (sure, you can disable WiFi … but your kid is going to figure out how to turn it back on again).
$99 is a great price – but you’re going to spend a lot more of your precious time maintaining this device down the road.
