A few months ago, I shared some fun ways to teach kids how to read an a recipe for Alpha-Bit cereal bars. This summer, we are still making sure to read every day and Alpha-Bits also plays a big part in my son’s learning! Alpha-Bits is a great snack for us and we love seeing what words we can spell out with what is in our bowl. Something else we love is to tune into Super Why, which airs on PBS. It’s such a fun way to learn and even my younger girls love the show. I’m a huge fan of reading with my family, so I was excited to be able to take part of placing a Little Free Library in my community.
Are you wondering what a Little Free Library is? A Little Free Library is a box full of books in your community where anyone can pick up a book for free and also bring in their old books. It’s that simple and spreads literacy throughout the community!

When thinking where I could place the Little Free Library I was given, I immediately thought of my church. We love Concord Trinity and it’s a wonderful community who I knew would love to get involved in this. Their Wednesday Workers crew happily installed the Little Free Library after adding a little paint. One it was installed, my son couldn’t wait to gather up some of his old books and head up to the library to pick out some new books.
If you’re in St. Louis, check out our Little Free Library at Concord Trinity Church. The address is: 5275 S. Lindbergh Blvd. Saint Louis, Missouri 63126.
I believe that books should be available to all, no matter where you live or if you can afford them. I’m so glad that there is a Little Free Library in our community now. If you’re interested to see if there is one near you, check the Little Free Library map.
The great thing about the Little Free Library is that you can buy one yourself and install it in your community! To learn more, visit Little Free Library.
A huge thank you to POST Cereal for the opportunity to install a Little Free Library in my community and for what they are doing to help Little Free Library spread awareness of books for all!
Do you have a Little Free Library in your neighborhood?
Disclosure: I received a Little Free Library. No further compensation was received. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I was totally going to say that I wish we had one in our area and then I looked at the map and we actually do have one! Next time we go to town I’m going to swing by and drop off a few books.

We have one of these out in Cottleville too, for the St Charles County folks, at the cottage at Cottleville Park by the dog park. I love it!

Great idea! I love that your community does this. Somehow I’m not sure it would work in inner city Baltimore, LOL.

My husband has been wanting to do this for several years. I won’t let him put it in our yard, but he may end up winning this battle over the summer. (I’d rather put it in a slightly more public place than my front yard.) 🙂

That is such a smart idea! I love this!

I first saw a free library about 3 years ago or so when I was asked to be a beta tester for Pinterest. Someone had shared ‘worlds smallest library.’ I think that pin circulated a few thousand times between the beta users before Pinterest went viral. Now I see quite a few of these tiny libraries popping up all over. I live on a super busy road or I would make one. Its on my list of things to do when I move. I would love to plant a little garden around it.

This is such a great idea! Love it! I don’t think we have one in our area. Sadly though if we did I think it would get vandalized. 🙁

My son LOVES to read and this would be so awesome because then we wouldn’t be reading the same books over and over! This would be a great for variety without having to buy a ton of books!
