Last year, I shared some of the best Nintendo gifts you needed for Christmas! If you’ve already gotten gifts off that list, I’m back with another guide of the Nintendo gifts that you need this Christmas! Every holiday, Nintendo items fill up all three of my kids Christmas lists and this year is no exception! If you’re wondering WHAT Nintendo gifts you should be putting under the tree, I’ve got the list for you!
First, you gotta get the Nintendo Switch. I have so many friends ask which gaming console they should get for their kids and hands down I always tell them the Nintendo Switch. It’s fun for both kids and adults and especially for families to play together. It’s portable which means you can take it outside the house to play – or if someone is wanting to watch the TV and someone wants to play games, they can take the Switch to another room to play.
Pokemon Let’s Go Eevee (or Pikachu!)
Last month, I shared how excited we were for Pokemon Let’s Go Eevee or Let’s Go Pikachu! No matter which version of the game you choose, you will embark on a fun journey through the vibrant Kanto region, catching and training Pokémon and battling Pokémon Trainers, Gym Leaders and the sinister Team Rocket – all with your partner Pikachu or Eevee by your side. What’s really cool is the game is compatible with the Pokemon Go app! Our family was pretty torn on which version of this to get but they settled on Let’s Go Eevee – and my Evie was pretty thrilled with that choice!
This game has been so anticipated by my kids – and my husband and I! It was on the top of their Christmas list this year but we got it a little early. The kids have been playing it non-stop, even asking to bring it with them in the car or when we are out and about. With Super Smash Brothers Ultimate, there are 74 players, over 100 stages to fight on, new music and so much more! It’s such a fun game to play and should be at the top of your list for your Nintendo Switch.
This is another game that the whole family loves to play together! Super Mario Party features the fan favorite “board game mode” which goes back to 4-player basics, with players taking turns and racing across the board in search of Stars. The original board game style has also been kicked up a notch with deeper strategic elements like character specific Dice Blocks to add another layer of fun.
Whether you’re flipping meat, matching bananas or who knows what else, you’ll use Joy-Con™ controllers in fun and clever ways across 80 new minigames. It’s even more fun with 4 players, so it’s a party the whole family can enjoy!
The Nintendo Labo is great for the kid who loves video games but also loves to build! Make, Play and Discover with the Nintendo Labo: Vehicle Kit, which puts you in the driver’s seat of a car, submarine, and plane! Nintendo Labo is an innovative line of family-friendly DIY kits for the Nintendo Switch gaming system. Make customizable cardboard creations called Toy-Con, play fun games with them, discover how they work, and invent new ways to play. All required building materials and accessories are included, and each kit’s unique packed-in Nintendo Switch software provides interactive build instructions, games, and more—all you need to add is a Nintendo Switch console and its pair of Joy-Con controllers! See your creations come to life as you speed through races, battle special cars equipped with extendable punching arms, explore and interact with a mysterious world, and more. Get ready for hours of engaging, inspiring, family-friendly DIY fun!
Last year for Christmas, Hayden got Monopoly Gamer and this year he’s all about Monopoly Gamer: Mario Kart! This edition of the Monopoly game joins forces with Nintendo video game characters for an exciting gameplay experience. Instead of the standard Monopoly tokens, players can choose to move around the gameboard as Mario, Princess Peach, Luigi, or Toad. Buy iconic Mario Kart properties such as Bowser’s Castle and Rainbow Road, Pass Go to trigger a race from Mario Kart Cup, dodge banana peel tokens, toss shells, pick Grand Prix cards, and collect Coins. When the final race is over, the player with the highest score wins.
Does your special someone have a Nintendo device but you’re not sure what game to get them? Gift them with a Nintendo e-Shop Gift Card! They can choose from over 1,000 games and it will download directly to their system!
Check out the video below that my kids made with their favorite Nintendo gifts for Christmas!
