Qal’at al-Bahrain
Just a few minutes outside of the city you will find the ancient and incredible Bahrain Fort, Qal’at al-Bahrain. Not only is it a part of what was believed to be the Dilmun Empire’s capital, but it is also a part of an Unesco World Heritage Site. You can explore on your own as a family, or book tickets for a guided tour through the grounds.
There are excavations of areas around the Fort that are residential, religious, military, and even evidence of great marketplaces! This is great for the whole family because you can not only learn about this historical place, but you can also walk through history!
Bab AlBahrain
If your family needs more of an action packed day, then the Bar AlBahrain is the place. Not only is there a seemingly endless maze of shops and cafes, but there are also incredible restaurants!
