Are you looking to do some good? Then just tweet about squirrels!
I was reading up on the latest news in social media when I came across the story of Craigslist founder Craig Newmark and his fondness for squirrels.
I’m not stranger to squirrels. They are all over the place in my neighborhood. They like to dodge cars and hang out on my front step. Here in St. Louis, the “Rally Squirrel” became a sensation during the World Series Championship!
I even had to bring a stuffed squirrel to one of the games!
The St. Louis Cardinals even had a “Rally Squirrel” mascot in the parade!
I can’t forget about one of my favorite songs from Phineas and Ferb also!
Newmark is using his passion for squirrels for a good cause. Everytime someone uses the hashtag #Squirrels4Good on Twitter, he will give $1 to the National Wildlife Federation up to $5K. He will also donate $1 for each new follower he gets over the next couple of weeks. {Follow Craig at @craignewmark!}
He’s also set up a Pinterest board dedicated to squirrels, as does the National Wildlife Federation.
What are you waiting for? Go tweet for the squirrels!
Disclosure: I was not compensated for this post, I just wanted to share.
I love that Phenieas and Ferb song. I have it on my phone and my son sings it all the time.
