Growing up, I always loved celebrating New Year’s Eve with my parents or my babysitter. I got to stay up later than normal and a lot of times we would head outside to bang pots and pans together {when did that tradition start, anyway?}. Since having our kids, we have yet to spend a New Year’s Eve away from them. We like that we have started our own traditions with them including ordering in pizza, watching a fun family movie and ringing in the New Year with them – which is actually around 9pm for them. This year, we are adding Fruity Pebbles to our New Year’s Eve celebration!
If you think about it, Fruity Pebbles looks a lot like bright, colorful confetti, which makes it perfect to include in your fun, kid-friendly New Year’s Eve! Take a look at some of the ideas below!
Entertainment
It’s such an exciting night and usually the kids are already hyped up. It’s always fun to have some games and things planned to do with the whole family.
- During the day start with a fun craft! Print these 2016 numbers and glue Fruity Pebbles to them for a fun decoration to ring in the new year!
- My kids love taking pictures and selfies. We even did a fun photo booth at my son’s Christmas party this year with a ton of props. For New Year’s Eve, you can set up a photo booth and let the kids – and adults! – take silly pictures.
Food & Drink
Good food and drink is a must for any New Year’s Eve celebration!
- Breakfast for dinner is always a good idea for special occasions! My kids love when we do this and would love a big bowl of Fruity Pebbles for dinner!
- Continue the fun of Fruity Pebbles with some sweet dessert. We made these Fruity Pebbles 2016 New Year’s Treats and also some Fruity Pebbles Confetti Cupcakes!
- For a drink, dip the rim of a glass in a syrup and then into a bowl of Fruity Pebbles! This will brighten up any drink!
Fruity Pebbles Confetti Fun
Remember how I said Fruity Pebbles reminded me of bright confetti? Try these fun activities below on New Year’s Eve!
- Buy push-pop containers and fill with Fruity Pebbles to make your very own DIY Confetti poppers! Remove the lid before you pop them and do it outside for a no-cleanup celebration!
- Fill clear balloons with Fruity Pebbles and inflate the balloons with helium or an air pump. When the ball drops, pop the balloons for a confetti shower! The kids will LOVE this!
For us, we love having our kids with us on New Year’s Eve. This year, even more fun will be added with the addition of all these fun Fruity Pebbles ideas! What are you doing to make it a kid-friendly New Year’s Eve this year?
