I put a call out on Twitter for a guest post and Carrie volunteered for me! I love Twitter so much because I have found the best people and the best blogs out there from Twitter and Carrie is one of them!

Carrie is a mama to two adorable children. She is also a pediatric nurse (something I’d love to go back to school for!) and she is a fantastic writer! She has been doing the SITS challenge and I have really been enjoying reading her posts. She also gets to visit Disneyland fairly often so I am very jealous of her!
Motherhood. This is the most rewarding thing I have ever done. I adore being a mother to these two fabulous kids I have. They are so sweet and loving (despite the attitudes), smart and fun (except when they are whiney). Okay, so it’s not perfect all the time.
Before I became a mom I had these grand visions and dreams of what life would be like. I always hoped I could be one of those perfect looking moms who would wake up early, get dressed, blow dry AND curl my hair; get the kids perfectly dressed and ready and were out of the house doing something educational. (Big heavy sigh… that sounds exhausting!) From the day Em, my oldest came, that image got whisked away and replaced with reality. I get woken bright and early by Em and her incessant requests for chocolate milk (her version of a morning cup of coffee). I drag myself out to get her milk and pour myself a cup of coffee and turn on Mickey Mouse. I get dressed in whatever is actually clean in my closet, sometimes dry my hair, but never have time to curl. Emily gets herself dressed in something that doesn’t match and won’t let me fix it (3 going on 13). At least Will is fairly easy, for now, he is only 14 months. As for leaving the house, sometimes we can manage in the morning. Our weeks are now filled with dance, story time, MOPS, and Mommy and Me Mondays. But most days, first thing in the morning it’s all about morning cartoons, at least they are educational right?!
So my version of motherhood doesn’t fit the original image I had. It’s better. I don’t take time to worry about little things anymore. So the house is a little messy, but my kids are happy. My laundry isn’t always perfectly pressed, but my kids are healthy. My hair means very little to me at this point because my kids love me despite the mess on my head (although I do try). We may not go out to do educational outings everyday but they are smart because I take the time to teach them things myself. A perfect image may never happen in my house, but my life is a perfect.
