Toddler + Painting = One Huge Mess!
Duh, right?
It’s been awhile since I let Hayden paint, in fact I think the last time he did it we were at The Magic House. We usually do crayons around here.
But we were bored so I got out the Washable Crayola Paints, the smock he has never worn and some paper to put on his easel.
It started off nice and neat!
He had lots of fun, telling me everything he was drawing, like choo choos and circles.
Hopefully my husband won’t choose to read this particular post.
Because he was doing so well painting on the paper I decided to go to the bathroom really fast. I had just drank about 30 ounces of water and really had to go.
So I RAN.
And when I came back Hayden was painting our hardwood floors.
I didn’t take a picture of that!
Thank God for Washable Crayola Paint. It wiped right off!
Then, Hayden discovered that he could paint his hand!
And put the hand on paper!
He did it over and over again, each time looking at me and asking “Ready?”
So even though it ended up being a gigantic mess, he had SO much fun, so I had so much fun!
Here’s my favorite of all his paintings!
And here is all of them!
Check back this Thursday for Toddler Talk Thursday where the topic is….
ART!!!

Awww, that is the cutest! And shhh, I promise not to tell about the painting the hardwood floors 🙂 My lil guy just recently got interested in crayons & markers and drew all over his hand yesterday with Crayola NON-washable markers (yeah, he looks a little trashy today, #stainedhands haha). It's too fun to see what they'll do and to see their creativity just flow! 🙂

LOL I know this game all too well! It always starts out ok, then… 'Oh, look at my toe nail. It should be painted. I painted my toes, now me fingers need some. My arm feels left out…' And so on and so forth.

I also have trouble balancing my daughter's desire to enjoy certain activities with my own issues of dealing with the mess! I know I am supposed to let her explore and making messes is part of the process, but man, I can't stand it some times! LOL
And can I just tell you how much I miss The Magic House?! We don't have anything like it where I live. It is the best! I wish my child could experience it.
