This Week’s Topic: Sick Toddlers
This winter has been really rough on Hayden. It seems that he was sick almost every other week. He’s only been in preschool since September and it’s the first time he’s been in anything so the doctor said that his immune system is still not going to be used to being around all these kids and GERMS!
It got to the point that I could figure out when I needed to call the doctor and when I could just treat him at home. Here’s what I always made sure to keep on hand for a sick toddler:
– Humidifier
– Vapor Rub {Rubbing on his feet really helped his cough!}
– Children’s Tylenol/Motrin
– Dropper for medicine {Sometimes Hayden was too sick to take it from a spoon!}
– Juice/Pedialyte/Gatorade
– Popsicles
Whenever he has a cough, I make sure to put a pillow under the mattress so his head is elevated a bit and it seems to help. The humidifier also is a huge help overnight. We also spend lots of time snuggling on the couch while watching Disney movies!
What do you keep on hand for sick toddlers and how do you help them get through it?
