This Week’s Topic:Traveling with a Toddler (Revisited)
Traveling with a toddler definitely doesn’t have to be hard! My advice is to plan! If you like to make lists, make them!
We have been traveling with Hayden since he was 3 months old. It wasn’t too bad when he was that little even though we had a lot to bring with us. Since he is a toddler, it’s a little more difficult to keep him occupied.
We always drive when we travel so I start by buying him cheap toys from the $1 store or Target. We also go to the library and pick out a ton of books. Then I always fill his backpack with toys and books. We also have another bag that is filled with toys he hasn’t seen so I can give them to him.
It’s best to keep on the same schedule that you are usually on, but sometimes it just can’t happen! When we went to Disney World in March, we tried to go back to the hotel for a nap, like we would at home. He would usually be so keyed up he couldn’t fall asleep but we would still try and have some down time.
Make sure to bring a lovey or blanket that they are comfortable with since you are sleeping away from home! Hayden loved having his!
What tips do you have for traveling with a toddler?

I am going to have to get Baybah a backpack for our road trips. I love that one by Skip Hop that is a blue dog.

We make sure that we stop regularly when we are on the road, and give the toddler a chance to run around a bit!
Another topic for discussion: How do you introduce the concept of death to your toddler in a natural and reaussuring way?

I think it’s a great idea to take a break during the day when traveling for some down time. Even if they don’t nap, it’s still some semblance of their usual routine.

Staying on a schedule on vacation is definitely hard, but worth it for the childs sake!
