My phone is such a lifesaver whenever I’m out and about with my toddler. Whether it’s while waiting in line or at a doctor’s office, I know that I will give my phone to my son and it will magically keep him quiet! Here are just some of my favorite apps to keep my son busy!
Top 5 Toddler Apps for Android
Fruit Ninja is a free app and while I think it’s technically for adults, it’s a must have for my toddler. Simply use your finger as the blade to cut the fruit in half and your little one becomes a little ninja! The Classic Mode features bombs that you have to avoid, but I usually put the game on Zen Mode and let him cut away! I actually think he may have a higher score than I do!
One fish, Two fish, Red fish, Blue fish:
My toddler is a huge fan of the Dr. Suess books so when I saw there was an app available in the Android Market, I knew I had to buy it! For $3.99, this book can be read to you or you can read the book on your own! The bright colors and animation will delight any toddler!
Peekaboo Barn has long been a favorite in our household. We had it on our iPhone, so I was so excited when it was released in the Android Marketplace earlier this year. For $1.99, Peekaboo Barn will introduce your toddler to farm animals and help them learn the names of the animals and the sounds they make!
This FREE app is perfect for my toddler! It helps your toddler learn their ABC’s by showing them each letter and then an object that letter starts with. I love that you can record your own voice or even your toddler’s voice for the flashcards.
This game is $1.99, but features six fun games! These games will teach your toddler about colors, shapes, letters, counting, differences and matching. Plus, your toddler will love the fun animated monkey!
What’s your toddler’s favorite Android app?
Disclosure: I received products from Verizon Wireless as part of the Midwest Moms program. All thoughts, opinions and experiences are my own and not the opinion of anyone else.
I love Fruit Ninja! Maybe I’m a little biased though 😉
“Learn Coloring” is great for kids

Lots of options, pencils, crayons, stamps and lots of categories even in the free app. I love that it has different languages too.
Good list but we always miss parent’s involvement. Most toddler apps in the market at cookie cut, all pre-determined words and pictures. Have you checked this app where it can help toddlers read while getting them excited in taking pictures of the words you want them to learn?

This is a better replacement of YourBabyCanRead video and flashcards. Beside theirs is so expensive ($200) while this is FREE! Plus this app gives you the option to put your own words or phrases.
Parents should pick the words or phrases that their kids learn. They should also take pictures that their kids already know for better retainability (if there is such a word) of the words.
Toddlers and kids who are ready to learn counting and like animated animals should try “Counting with Animals”
