When we found out that Toys R Us was closing, we were pretty devastated. After all, at 34 years old, I didn’t even know life without Toys R Us. The first Toys”R”Us opened in 1957. That means my mom, me and my kids have never know a world without Toys R Us (or as my daughter would say, Toys FOR Us). From visiting there when I was a kid to taking my own kids there, it’s always been like a toy wonderland for my kids. They loved going there before Christmas and birthdays to take pictures of what they wanted. When I heard the news Toys R Us was closing, I was so sad that I had started giving into the other big box stores and online retailers. For me, it was a convenience thing and I took Toys R Us for granted.
But wait! Today, October 2nd, news came out that Toys R Us lenders have CANCELED the bankruptcy auction and have plans to revive the brand. Does that mean stores could be open before Christmas? Toys R Us has put forth a plan that says they will create a “new, operating Toys “R” Us and Babies “R” Us branding company that maintains existing global license agreements and can invest in and create new, domestic, retail operating businesses.”
I imagine that this will make MANY kids – and adults – happy with the news that Toys R Us could possibly be coming back! What about you – will Toys R Us coming back make you shop there again? What changes would you like to see to the retail chain?

I hadn’t heard this! I’m so with you, I didn’t give a lot of my business to them anymore and was part of the problem with them closing. I don’t usually get super nostalgic about store closing but I saw a meme with Geoffrey the Giraffe that said, “I’ll always be a Toys R Us kid” and not gonna lie, I teared up a bit! This is exciting news!
