At the time that you are reading this, we are having a blast at Walt Disney World. If you’ve ever been, you know that it can be full of non-stop, on-the-go action! At least, that’s how we like to do it!
We have done a family beach trip the past 2 years, which has always been relaxing and fun. We weren’t sure if we were going to be able to fit in a beach trip this year, so I was excited to be able to stay at the Tradewinds Island Grand Beach Resort in St. Pete Beach, Florida.
St. Pete Beach is located a little over 2 hours from Orlando, Florida on the beautiful Gulf Coast.
The Tradewinds Island Resorts are perfect for a family vacation, weekend getaway or a girl’s trip.
You can choose to stay in the Tradewinds Island Grand Resort, which is a 20-acre beachfront resort! There is a variety of different rooms to choose from and there are activities galore for kids, adults and families to do together! I checked out the Kid’s Activity Calendar and was excited to see we would be there to check out Captain RedBeard’s Pirate Show!
You’ll never want to actually leave the Tradewinds Island Grand Resort, because there is SO much to do! In addition to the beach, there are 5 heated pools, including one just for adults and one just for toddlers!
There’s tennis, beach volleyball, paddle boats, shopping and a spa also, so you’ll always have something to do! You also won’t go hungry because there are 11 restaurants to choose from.
There are two unique amenities to the Tradewinds Island Grand that really caught my eye!
The first is they are Pet Friendly! There are a select number of suites available and the resort features a secure Pet Play Zone, a Doggie Accessory Center and marked pathways along the water way! Too bad we left our dog back at home!
The Tradewinds Island Grand and Sndpiper Resort is Autism Friendly, which is something I hadn’t seen at a resort before.
Last year, Tradewinds was designated Autism Friendly by the Center for Autism and Related Disabilities and employees underwent training. You can request safety kits and if you require a special diet, Tradewinds offers a gluten free menu and more!
While we are staying at the Island Grand, the Sandpiper is right next door! Guests staying at the Sandpiper are able to use all of the amenities at the Island Grand, while enjoying a more quiet and intimate resort!
We can’t wait to head to Tradewinds Island Grand and tell you all about it! I’m already loving how family friendly it is!
Disclosure: Accommodations are being provided complimentary by the Tradewinds Island Grand. All opinions are my own.
