Summer is almost here and you may be planning where you’ll be visiting this summer! If you’re like me, you’ll spend a lot of time trying to figure out if a resort is a good fit for your family. A good resort can make or break your vacation!
Here’s a great list for you to check out whether you have little ones, tweens or just looking for a getaway with your partner!
LITTLE ONES – SANDPEARL RESORT & SPA
You’ll be able to keep your little ones close to you, while always keeping them entertained!
Things To Do:
– As if meeting Winter, the star of last year’s blockbuster Dolphin’s Tale (located down the street from Sandpearl) isn’t enough, Clearwater Beach is one of the largest and most beautiful beaches on Florida’s West Coast.
– Sandpearl’s Camp Ridley isn’t your generic “stick the kids in here and let’s have a break” kind of place. Kids enjoy the place so much they beg the parents to bring them back!
– Lots of new experiences for the little ones from roasting s’mores on the beach at night to ringing the resort’s historic dinner bell.
Tweens – Harbor Beach Marriott Resort
Tweens will want to show a little independence but still have their parents nearby!
Things To Do:
– The kids facilities here include a surf simulator, xbox, movie theater, and Mac computers. It’s not supervised though, so not great for the little one’s, but perfect for those “grown up” enough to handle some time away from the folks.
– In addition to a spectacular beach, this spot has some great water sports that the whole family can participate in and the Tweens can learn from Mom and Dad
– Dive In Movies…who doesn’t love that?
Teens – San Juan Marriott Resort
Teens may be too cool to hang with their parents, but they still want to know they are there!
Things To Do:
– Located in a spot full of history including forts, cobble stone streets and Pirates of the Caribbean-esque landscape, teens will act too cool, but they’ll love it (Remember, lots of movies were shot here. Think Fast and Furious and Jack Sparrow.)
– The pools at the San Juan Marriott are dual level. Teens can sneak away with their iPod and mobile phones (remember, this is US soil, so they can text their friends back home and it won’t kill Mom and Dad’s pocketbook) and exercise their independence, but not too much of it.
– The surrounding area, Condado, is a fun and interactive community. Teens can take some spending money, shop and hang out at small cafes with a soda and their friends in a safe neighborhood.
All Ages – Cotton Tree
Perfect for a getaway with your loved one for with the whole extended family!
Things To Do:
– Two-bedroom 1600 sq ft. cottages with all of the luxuries of home (actually more luxuries than most have at home) are the perfect escape for the whole family. Close, but with two bedrooms and all that square footage, not too close.
– From sting ray city snorkeling to Grand Cayman’s George Town there is so much to do here for a wide range of ages.
– Let the little ones sleep and grandma and grandpa can take a walk on the beach while Mom finally gets to read that book on the porch! This property provides a comfortable home like experience with resort options.
If you’re going to be traveling this summer, make sure to look into these fun destinations with so much to do!
Where would you stay this summer?
Disclosure: I was not compensated for this post, I simply wanted to share!
We went to the Clearwater aquarium to see Winter from Dolphin Tale and the beach Spring Break this year.
That sounds like so much fun!
