The girls just turned 8 months old so that means an update on what they have been doing the past month!
SLEEP
I shared last month about Why I Let My Twins Cry It Out – they are such good sleepers! We put them down to sleep between 6:30pm and 7pm and they don’t wake up until 7am. Really, since they have been sleeping through the night they have become such happier babies – and I’m a happier Mama! I do have to admit that sometimes I miss those in the middle of the night cuddles!
We have been struggling with naps still. Evie finally will go down for a 2 hour nap in her crib when I pick up on her sleepy cues. Olivia though….she is a tough one! She only likes to fall asleep for naps while being held and cries as soon as I put her down. It’s definitely hard to get stuff done around the house and I wish they were on the same schedule!
FOOD
We are still doing purees. I’ve been doing chucks of banana and avocado and they also eat the Plum Organics Little Yums Teething Wafers. I’ve been thinking of trying meat or something else with more texture {although they do love Quinoa!} but not sure if I should.
SITTING and CRAWLING {almost}
Evie and Olivia are both pros at sitting unsupported! Olivia is doing an army crawl and rolling to get all around the house and Evie still has NO interest. She also hates tummy time and cries no matter what I put in front of her to try and distract her! I think she will never crawl!
HELMET
Olivia got her helmet for herΒ plagiocephaly and she is doing really well with it! You wouldn’t even think she has it on. We gradually worked her up to wearing it but now she wears it about 21 hours a day including the 12 hours she sleeps at night. Her next appointment is next week where they measure her head to see if there is a difference. My husband says he sees one, but I’m not sure!
Now, on to pictures from the last month!
They look so happy and sweet and cute!!! I can’t tell you the trouble I had with other moms looking down on me for letting my kids cry it out, but it’s the only thing that ever eventually got me some ever-loving sleep. Good for you. They look so adorable.
Such adorable little girls! So glad to hear they are sleeping through the night. Hopefully those nap schedules will iron out so you can get some Me time.
Love the twin update. I did not have twins, but my first two were less than 15 months apart so I had to let them cry it out at times. It did make them easier to put on a schedule and better sleepers. When I was feeling guilty about letting them cry and elderly aunt told me to save my guilt, I was going to do so many more things in their life to make me feel guilty, I needed to pace myself.
Oh I am so envious of your sleep, how nice that is to sleep all night. My two and three year old get up several times a night. And how nice of Oliva to accept her plagiocephaly helmet.
They are so cute and sleeping through the night I will trade you my 4 yr old and 7 yr old for them lol
They are so beautiful. I love that you share how they are doing with their routines!
Oh how cute! They are adorable! I think meats and textures are fine at 8 months. We would put them in a food processor or shred them and my babies loved them, especially chicken.
sleep – what’s that!! I remember not getting much at all when my little one was that age…but I guess it’s all part of being a mommie. YOur little girls are so adorable – I always follow my instincts and it leads me right every time!!
Oh my word, they are adorable! I can’t imagine dressing two little girls every day! That’s either a bankruptcy waiting to happen or a dream! lol
Oh my, your girls are just adorable. I was beyond happy when my kids started sleeping through the night, Hang in there for the nap schedule, they will get there.
Wow they are sleeping really well! Hope you knocked on wood when you wrote that! π They are too cute for words!
They are adorable!! That is so wonderful she allows the helmet on her head and will wear it for that many hours. I hope the doctor can see a difference so far!
The twins are so cute, and they’re growing so quickly.. I can’t believe it! π
They most certainly do look like a couple of happy girls! I’m so glad that they’re wonderful sleepers!
How cute are these two! π I can imagine that having them on opposite day time schedules is a real challenge! Hope they get in sync soon π
Oh, my! They’re such a cutie and so precious! I missed my boy being at that age.
You have some of the cutest babies. And I’m sure Evie will get real interested in crawling once Olivia gets better at it and starts leaving her behind to go off to other places π
That’s great that the twins are such good sleepers! Sleep is one of the greatest friends of a mom of multiples! π My twins are 7 and unfortunately don’t sleep for 12 hours at a time, but I sure do cherish the moments they sleep! It allows me to get enough sleep to keep up with them! π
Also, absolutely love the Thing 1 and Thing 2 outfits! They look so adorable in them!
Your girls are so adorable!! I voted for them in their Halloween costumes. They are so cute. That is awesome that they sleep so good. Your girls make me smile, they are so sweet!
