Whoops! I completely missed posting an 8 month update on Olivia and Evie. Well, you know it was a little busy with the holidays plus these girls are keeping me busy! The older they get, the more active they are and they definitely keep me on my toes!
SLEEP
Knock, knock, knock on wood because these girls sleep 12+ hours at night! They currently are in bed by 6:30 pm and then up around 7-7:30 am. We have tried pushing their bedtime later but they will have no part of that. It’s a complete meltdown if they are up past 6:30 pm – and that includes if we are out of the house too! It’s hard because family and friends have had to understand that we want to be home by their early bedtime – but it’s good for the girls and us for them to stay on routine!
Evie is pretty good about taking naps. She usually takes two 1 hour naps. Olivia on the other hand….she only wants to fall asleep on me! It’s hard because I’d like to take the time to spend some one on one time with my son or get some work done. Her pediatrician suggested Cry It Out for naps. You know I have no issue with it since we did CIO for overnight but it’s somehow different during the day and she just isn’t having it. The one good thing is that Evie is so clingy to me during the day, I enjoy the bonding and snuggles with Olivia.
FOOD
We have pretty much given up on purees! I got a few good months out of my Baby Bullet but the girls are loving table food! Their favorite right now is peas and carrots. They also love whole wheat waffles, applesauce and puffs. I do need to start giving them a bit more variety.
On The Move
Both girls are on the move! They started crawling within a week of each other. It started with the army crawl but then they were both full on crawling all over the house. Hayden has to keep his door closed at all times because as soon as the door opens, they are on their way so fast! After all, he has the coolest room in the house!
Technically a 10 month update, but they are also pulling up! Evie will only pull up in her crib, but Olivia pulls up in her crib, on the gate and the couch. The only thing is she’s not too sure how to get back down and throws a fuss!
There’s really not too much else going on! The girls still don’t play too much WITH each other, just side by side which is completely normal. They do reach out and hold hands sometimes and Olivia always laughs when Evie laughs. Mostly though they fight over toys and Olivia tends to knock over Evie. It’s funny because Olivia is the smaller of the two.
Coming up next month….10 months!
Oh my goodness! They are so precious!!! I love their names as well! Classic, but unique 🙂
they are seriously adorable. i would just smooch them all day long
avocado is a great baby food too! if its slippery, kind of roll it in something like puffs or rice krisipes
I’m a twin! I have a fraternal twin 9 minutes older. You are going LOVE being a mom of multiples:)
Awww, they’re so cute. You just made me remember what having babies was like. My youngest is now six and him being a baby is such a distant memory now.
So adorable! It’s great to see how twins progress with each other. My son did the army crawl all the way up until he started walking – he never did a normal crawl.
Look at those little sweeties!! I absolutely love the tutus! So cute and girly!
What adorable photos! I do miss this age a lot.
Hooray for sleeping 12+ hours!! That was such a huge milestone for me when my twins were little.
They are growing so fast!! They are so so sweet.
Your girls are so darling! My two oldest were like that with their early bedtimes. They needed to go to bed by 6:30 or they were miserable. If I put them to bed later, they were cranky and had a harder time going to sleep. They would still get up at the same time the next morning but be miserable. The early bedtime worked for us!
If they were any cuter, it’d be a sin. Seems like just yesterday our babies were born!
Awe they are such cuties. I love that they hold hands and giggle when the other one does!
How adorable are they. Glad to read that your twins are doing so well. Lots more fun ahead!
They are getting soooo big. It’s so interesting to see the monthly growth updates 🙂
Your twins are absolutely adorable. But I cannot tell a lie: I’m a wee bit jealous about the 12+ hours/night thing. Hehe. My daughter will be 3 in February and I’m not sure if she still has ever slept 12 hours at one time.
They are ADORABLE! I love the hat too 🙂 PS Yay for meeting the milestones.
They are sooo adorable. They are cute and have beautiful eyes.
As the mother of 6 year old twins, I enjoyed reading about your twins. I remember when my girls were that young and it seems as if it were just a moment ago.
