There have been many times that my husband and I have contemplated moving. We have thought about how nice it was when we lived in our giant two bedroom townhouse and didn’t have to worry about doing yard work or the hassles of keeping up with a house. Sometimes we dream of leaving St. Louis, packing up everything and making the long drive to live in Florida. But one of the things that stops us every time? We have SO much stuff!
With Uncle Bob’s Storage Centers though, you can easily find a storage facility near you in case you are thinking of downsizing, moving or just need more space for your stuff! I love that they have different units to choose from. I didn’t even know you could get a climate-controlled or humidity controlled unit.
They also have some great tips on how to pack a storage unit. I’m so unorganized I know that I would have just started throwing things in and there would be no hope for me if I needed to find a specific item. Here are a few of my favorite tips from Uncle Bob’s Storage Centers!
Tips for Packing a Storage Unit
– Maximize space! Uncle Bob’s Storage Units are 8 feet tall so make sure to stack high. Don’t forget to put sturdier items on the bottom.
– Leave an aisle. You’ll want a way to access the items at the back of the unit.
– Turn box labels to face the aisle. This will make it easier to know what you are looking at!
Make sure to head to their site for even more tips and even try their Virtual Storage Space Tool to help you visualize your setup!
Have you ever used a storage unit before?

Great tips! When we were in between houses, we had to store some things …and forgot to leave an aisle clear! Wish I had thought about it better 🙂
