With the holiday season in full swing, I have been doing a lot of online shopping. Being 6 months pregnant with a toddler at home, it’s just easier! But this time of year brings me out of the house whether it’s to attend a family gathering, parties at my son’s school or various holiday activities we like to do around town. If there’s one thing that I don’t like about ordering something online, it’s coming home to that sticky note on the door letting you know that they tried to deliver your package, but you weren’t home!
A few months ago I signed up for a free UPS My Choice membership, where members can receive phone, e-mail or text alerts notifying them a day in advance of when packages will arrive while also providing a four-hour approximate delivery time frame. Members also have the option to electronically authorize release of packages that require a signature {love that!!} and even reroute a package {for a $5 fee} to another delivery address or have it delivered to the nearest The UPS Store® location.
There’s also a UPS My Choice Premium Membership, which is available for a $40 annual subscription. It includes all the benefits of a free UPS My Choice membership and members also gain access to an online delivery calendar that shows the status of UPS home deliveries. Premium members are offered a two-hour delivery window and can even leave instructions to leave the package with a neighbor.

I like the idea of the UPS My Choice Membership but have yet to sign up. Thanks for the reminder. They just showed a news story about packages being stolen so this really is a great idea.

My husband uses this service to track all of our packages and he LOVES it. He is always telling me when a package will soon be arriving at the door.
