VeggieTales presents The Little House That Stood. This DVD contains The Little House That Stood, a new Larry song called “Happy Toothday”, and The Good Egg of Gooseville.
Bob and Larry explain first that a parable is a story that teaches a lesson, but in an easy to understand way. Watch Little House That Stood Trailer!
The Little House That Stood (Wise and Foolish Builder parable)
The three pigs have come to Cabbageville in seek of homes.
Builders Mr. Lunt (Brick), Bob (Wood), and Larry (Straw) are hired to build their homes.
What we learn about is that it doesn’t matter what you use to build with (well..except straw..sorry Larry). What is important is having a strong foundation to build upon. This can then be applied to the foundation of God in your life and listening to His Word.
The Good Egg of Gooseville (Good Samaritin parable)
Humpty Dumpty is the mayor of Gooseville. He is the person everyone brings their problems to. Humpty starts to literally crack from the pressure, and decides to not help anyone but himself. We learn what happens when people stop helping and start blaming instead.
Family Thoughts:
I was impressed and a little shocked that my kids (4 and 9) stayed quiet 98% of the time. That never ever happens!! They really liked it, and are already fans of the VeggieTales songs (so am I).
At the end of the DVD there is a special feature of discussion questions. I really liked having this to discuss the themes. I thought it was written in an easy way for the kids to understand. The Girl in particular loved answering the questions.
This DVD teaches a couple valuable lessons that we need God as our foundation, and we need to love and help each other!
I cannot wait to start getting other VeggieTale DVDs for the kids to watch, especially after how focused they were on this one!
One reader will win a copy of Veggie Tales: The Little House That Stood on DVD!
Disclaimer: I received this DVD in exchange for as always honest opinion and review of it.
