It’s been awhile since I’ve gotten a haircut and I was in desperate need of something new. Day after day I would throw my hair in a bun because I just didn’t know what else to do with my dull hair. It came to the point that I wore it up SO often that when I did wear it down, my kids didn’t like it because I “looked different”. I didn’t have a regular salon that I went to because I had yet to find one that clicked with me. That all changed when I discovered the Maplewood Beauty Bar Salon!
Located in the heart of Maplewood, the Maplewood Beauty Bar Salon is owned by Amanda who has been a hair stylist for over 9 years. She just opened up the Maplewood Beauty Bar a few months ago and it’s truly fantastic! From the moment I walked in, I felt relaxed. The colors of the wall are my favorite (we painted our bedroom in the same color!) and the waiting area is comfortable. They even have Netflix available and Amanda mentioned that if I had to bring my kids, she would put on a show for them to watch!
When I sat in the chair with Amanda, I felt totally comfortable with her. (Especially after the offer of wine, coffee or water!) I wasn’t quite sure what I wanted my new look to be but after telling her what I did and didn’t want, she came up with a style and color that I absolutely love! She chopped off a few inches and did a balayage color that I had been wanting but was kind of intimidated to try!

Ah, is’t it gorgeous?! I am totally in love and it’s just what I (didn’t know) I wanted! Plus, are you eyeing those curls? I got SO many compliments on them that day. Amanda did those curls with the Beachwaver and she’s one of the only salons in St. Louis that actually carries them for you to buy! Plus, you’ll get them a little cheaper from her as opposed to purchasing from Ulta or Amazon!
In addition to my new cut and color, I also received a manicure from Kristin! I loved chatting with her and she did what she could to my short nails (I bite them and need to stop!) by totally pampering me and applying a beautiful pink color!

Wedding Hair and Make-Up

The Maplewood Beauty Bar Salon is located at 7403 Manchester Rd, Maplewood, Mo 63143. It’s right next to the Shop ‘n Save and you’ll park in back of the building to get there. It’s such a great location because it’s easy to get there from South County, St. Louis City and more!
Hours are:
Monday and Wednesday from 9am to 9pm
Tuesday and Thursdays from 10am to 3pm
Friday from 10am to 6pm
Sunday from 10am to 4pm
Saturdays are by appointment only.
