As a busy Mom of 3, it’s hard for me to get away and visit the doctor. But as a Mom of 3, that’s exactly WHY I should be visiting the doctor. That’s why I am so excited about the Walgreens Way to Well Health Tour, a community outreach program dedicated to providing free preventive and early detection health services to communities across the country.
Now through December, there are four buses traveling the country offering FREE health tests and assessments in addition to tons of resources and education. Free tests include total cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure, body mass index, body composition, skeletal muscle, resting metabolism, visceral fat, real body age and body weight. The tour was recently in St. Louis and I visited with my family. Everyone was so nice and professional as they explained everything we were going to do in the tour bus.

Getting my Blood Pressure Taken!
There is no payment or insurance required to visit the Walgreens Way to Well Tour Bus. Once you go inside, it looks just like a doctor’s office with a waiting room and individual “rooms” where you will get your tests done. Everyone was very friendly and explained step by step what I was going to be getting done.
I knew that my numbers wouldn’t be great because I’m working on improving my health and losing weight. It was good to see the numbers on paper and there wasn’t any judgement from the team – just encouragement! I was able to get a ton of resources to read up on to help get my numbers down.
One thing I have been enjoying lately is walking with my family. I have had a FitBit for a few months now and I’ve found that it is a great motivator to keep me moving, plus I love that I’m in a friendly challenge with my husband and friends. One thing I love learning about is how you can link your FitBit to your Balance Rewards card. I am in Walgreens a few times a week and I can’t shop without my card. In fact, I will pick out items that will give me more points. So when I learned that I could earn 20 points for each mile that I walked, ran or cycled, I immediately signed up!
It’s super easy to sign up. Once you have signed up for the Walgreens Balance Rewards program, just sign up for the Steps program and start walking! We recently went to a theme park and I earned 140 reward points just for having fun and being active!

The health tour’s bundle of free health tests and risk assessments is designed to provide participants with personal health insights that may indicate symptoms and potential risks for cancer, heart disease and diabetes. Tests include total cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure, body mass index, body composition, skeletal muscle, resting metabolism, visceral fat, real body age and body weight*. Collectively the health tests, valued at over $100, are administered to adults age 18 years and older by certified wellness staff and can be completed in approximately 20 minutes. Afterward, participants consult with a Walgreens pharmacist or certified wellness staff about his or her results. This is a free service – insurance will not be billed.
Win It!
I’m excited to be teaming up with Walgreens to give away a FitBit Flex so you can connect it with your Balance Rewards card from Walgreens!
