~I really want to learn to knit. I think it would be a lot of fun and really relaxing.
Plus, my Mother-in-Law knitted Hayden a baby blanket and I think that is so cool. I would love to do that. I’m thinking of buying a beginner’s “Learn To Knit” kit from Michael’s for our car trip down. Is it possible to do in the car or do I need a lot of room to spread out?
~I went to Goodwill and got about 20 books that I haven’t read! All were in great condition and either 70 cents or $1! ~I am OBSESSED with this new dip my friend Jamie told me about. I’m sure you all know about it because it’s super simple to make. Add a packet of Hidden Valley Fiesta Ranch Mix to light sour cream. Mix. Eat with veggies (I do cucumbers and carrots!) LOVE!~What do you think when you haven’t received a giveaway prize that you won? There are two giveaways I “won” over 2 months ago and I haven’t received the prize. I’ve contacted the blogs (one who is a MAJOR blog) who has been kind of short with me and not following up at all. ~I’m sad that Lost didn’t win anything at The Emmy’s. Like really sad. And how sad is that is still hits me really hard that the show is over? Guess I was a little too attached.
~I really want to get my hair cut and maybe even dye it too. My hair is long and blah. There is just no shape to it. I’m really wanting to get it cut into a long bob, but worried how it will look with my face (which is round round round! 😉 ) and if I could keep it styled right. And I have to be able to put it in a ponytail. Hair not up in a ponytail + toddler=OUCH!
I bought a box dye of dark blond hair dye that I thought would be different and fun.Â
I haven’t died my hair in about 6 years! :-OÂ

Okay…a bunch of stuff…I want to learn to knit too! I just told my sister the same thing.
As for Goodwill for books – it never even occurred to me to go there…excellent idea and I'm so gonna do it!
I promise you'll love Girl with the Dragon Tattoo…give it 100 pages and you'll be hooked. I will admit it starts out slow, but once it gets you, it gets you! Then watch the movie…it was really good!

As for the giveaways thing…I don't know what to say because it hasn't happened to me (yet). But it sucks! I almost want to say call those bloggers out!
And last, don't cut your hair. Everytime I cut mine I regret it. Sigh. But I will say that I just got my hair re-highlighted (it was 7 months but you still have me beat!)
Morning – Happy Wednesday to you! That ranch dip sounds great….think I am going to have to try it this weekend for sure at our Labor Day gathering! As far as the giveaways go…I have never won anything, so I don't have any advice. I can say though, if you cut your hair, make it a small cut, nothing drastic, you will probably not like it. I have done that before and regretted it…Enjoy the day!

There are learn to knit kits? I need to get one of those. I have tried and failed to learn to knit and crochet many, many times and it makes me so sad that I haven't mastered it.
knitting isnt that hard, but i feel like i learn better when some one shows me something. likemaybe you could look up an instrucitonal video on youtube and then practice in the car??? you dont need alot of room. At first too i had trouble casting on, so i had to have someone do that for me. but maybe you are better at following book instrucitns than i am. (if you live in NYC i can teach you)
i started dragon tattto and heard its a slow start, so i put it down and picked up WITH FRIENDS LIKE THESE that i have dived into! let me know how dragon tattoo is.
Firstly – gotta thank you, because within a week of winning the giveaway, I received your potty animals book.
I've won other giveaways that I haven't received – I haven't given up, but sometimes it is not due to the blogger, but the sponsor. Ex: I was told the item was on backorder status and they never followed through with it. I won another giveaway from the same blog, and received my prize 2 weeks later.
I almost bought those two books yesterday then cheaped out on myself! I need to do it!
Follow up with the giveaway prizes. I've had it happen to me too and most bloggers are good about it. However, I'm awful about doing it myself because I don't track my prizes that well.
I get emails fairly frequently from people who didn't receive their prizes, and I never get an attitude with them over it. Goodness!
Ok, to clarify on that comment…I don't track the prizes I PERSONALLY win very well. I'm very organized with my blog and those wins. I guess I'm more worried about other people's winnings than my own!
Great post! I've always wanted to learn to knit too. I always check out our Goodwill for books, they get so many they sell them for 10 cents a piece and many are brand new! Then I read them and pass them around to my friends to read. Can't beat it! That's sad you never received your winnings from that blog. I've never won anything, LOL. Hope you get it resolved soon. I tried knitting…I just couldn't get the hang of it. My MIL does it too…must be their generation..LOL! I don't think you need alot of room. Reading books and just practicing has gotten me to learn sewing. I am sure you will do great if you try.
I used to crochet a lot, but never really knitted!! I agree, it would be fun to learn!!
As for giveaways not arriving or being shipped…how annoying!! I've been lucky and the handful I've won have been shipped, pretty timely!

That so sucks that you never received your prizes. Not cool at all, perhaps the sponser was supposed to ship it and failed miserably. I hope this is the case, and not the blogger being sneaky. Although honestly if it had been me I would have purchases the item and shipped it myself as it is all about integrity.
