I LOVE to read! Before H was born I would read up to 2 books a week and maybe have a couple going at the same time. My taste is all over the place too. My favorite author is John Grisham and I have read all his books so many times I can’t even remember! One of my favorite books is “Shogun” by James Clavell. And I admit it: I love the Shopaholic series.
So I am always on the lookout for new books to read. I recently finished a book that was lent to me by a friend. It was “Fast Food Nation” by Eric Schlosser. That book really opened my eyes up. It definitely makes me want to avoid fast food and eat a lot healthier. She also let me borrow the book “In Defense of Food: An Eater’s Manifesto” by Michael Pollen. I haven’t started reading it yet, but Emily told me that it redeems food a bit!
I also am borrowing the book “The Swan Thieves” by Elizabeth Kostova. She also wrote the book “The Historian” which I am a fan of. I am not sure what it is about, but I am looking forward to reading it! It’s gigantic!
Then, my awesome husband brought me home the new Jodi Picoult book “House Rules”. I enjoy reading her books too (Even though they can be very similar) and can’t wait to dive into that!
So what are you reading right now? What should be on my waiting list?

I just finished reading "Things Fall Apart" by Chinua Achebe… it's a real downer, though. But my favorite book of all time is "The Unbearable Lightness of Being" by Milan Kundera.

Just recently finished The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. Right now I'm reading Let The Great World Spin by Colum McCann (it won the National Book Award last year). When we bought our house, I re-read a book called Holy Land: A Suburban Memoir by D.J. Waldie which is quite interesting. I love anything by Jonathan Safran Foer, though I found Everything is Illuminated better and easier to get through than Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close because while they both have very detailed accounts of the horrors of WWII, the second book also dealt with 9/11.
Other than that, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy books are always great (that's Douglas Adams), and if you want some great classics you have two options as jumping off points; I'd suggest reading William Faulkner's The Sound and the Fury and Ernest Hemingway's The Sun Also Rises. If you like Hemingway better, there's a whole list of suggestions. If you like Faulkner better, read more Faulkner (I like Hemingway better, so I feel more confident making suggestions from that point). If you're one of those rare people who likes both, you're crazy. And, if you don't like either, I can understand that, too.
So, apparently I should just have responded to you with my own blog. Whoops.

I just finished reading Scott Pilgrim Vol. 1. (Now I can watch the movie trailer to see if I'm interested.) And I've begun reading Flight Vol.6, which is one of the best comics anthologies out there. I like reading comics, and I find that with my busy life reading graphic novels makes me feel like I'm actually getting somewhere instead of it taking months to finish one book since I have such little time to read right now.
