I just got done reading an AMAZING book, so I thought I’d share.
I have been holding on to the book American Wife by Curtis Sittenfeld
for a couple months now, ever since The Nerdy Katie recommended it.
for a couple months now, ever since The Nerdy Katie recommended it.The book follows the life of a character named Alice Lindgren from childhood, through her early life as a librarian, her mid life as a mother and supporter of a political husband and then finally as The First Lady of the United States.
I’m going to admit that I got the book without knowing ANYTHING about it, but I frequently do that with books.
Halfway through the book, I thought to myself, “Huh, this really seems to resemble the Bush family and Laura Bush”.
Well, after some research when I was finished, I was right. The book is fiction but loosely based on some biographies of Laura Bush.
No matter your political party, it’s a very fascinating story. About 30 pages in, I got that feeling, like “Wow. This is going to be a really good book”.
I highly recommend reading American Wife.

That book is AMAZING! I've read it twice, and still could go for round three! Enjoy!
I just read The Last Summer (of You and Me) after winning it on a Read It Forward blog contest…it was pretty good, but not nearly as good as American Wife. I recommend all of Sittenfeld's novels.

Thanks for the book suggestion, I am always looking for good new books to read! I am not really reading anything right now, unfortunately! I have been a bit too preoccupied with blogging LOL!
Every time I walk into Borders I look at this book. There have been a couple of times I have had it in my hand and then put it back and got some thing else. I really need to check this book out.
I ma currently trying to read Firefly Lane. I am bout half way through. It's a good book, I just have no time to read anymore.
