What You Need To Know About The Color Run, Sponsored By Cricket Wireless

Last weekend, I had the chance to participate for the second time in The Color Run, sponsored by Cricket Wireless! If The Color Run is coming to your city, grab your friends or family and definitely participate because you won’t regret all of the fun you’re going to have! If you’re thinking about doing it, here is what you need to know about The Color Run!

How long exactly is a 5K?

If you’re not an experienced runner, you might be wondering how long a 5K is. Is it 5 miles? Nope, it’s actually 3.1 miles.

Do I have to actually RUN in The Color Run? Is it a timed race?

You absolutely do not have to run! I did a combination of walking and fast walking during The Color Run. Some people give it their all and RUN (my friend finished as the 4th woman this year!) or you can walk or jog. It’s an untimed race.

Should I pick up my packet before the race at the check-in party or that morning?

I absolutely recommend that you pick your packet up at the check-in party the day before. This year, it was at a Cricket Wireless store and it’s definitely a PARTY! Music playing, The Color Run store to check out so you can shop ahead of time and fun giveaways from Cricket Wireless! You won’t want to wait in that line the morning of and I love getting my shirt, tattoos and bandanna the day before the race.

How much color is there during the race?

There are 5 stations of color along the race! Each station has different color but the best station in my opinion was the Cricket Wireless one right before the finish line! There was just a ton of GREEN powder thrown on us and it was so much fun!

Should I stick around after the race?

YES! Don’t head out when there is a party to enjoy! After the race, you’ll want to check out all of the different booths there are. You most definitely want to stop by the Cricket Wireless booth where you can enter to win a HUGE prize (like a Smart TV!) and spin the wheel to win instant little prizes! You’ll also want to head up to the stage area where they will be throwing out to the crowd even MORE color and swag!
