We do a lot of reading in our house. Before bedtime, each kid gets to pick a book so that means 3 books are being read a night. We have a lot of books but even then we have a lot of repeats. I’m always looking for new books to bring into our bedtime routine and I was thrilled to discover Vampirina Ballerina and Vampirina at the Beach!

We received two Vampirina books and my girls loved them – even my 9 year old son thought they were fun!

When the summer moon is full, a beach trip is an epic way to spend the night.

With her signature poise, Vampirina and her clan gear up for a festive time at the beach. Keeping her ballet lessons in mind, Vampirina demi-pliés on a surfboard, leaps for a volleyball, and finishes each competition with style, even if she doesn’t always come out on top.

Oh, to be a ballerina! It’s a challenge for any little girl, but even more so if you happen to be a vampire like Vampirina.First of all, you have to find a class that meets at night. Then you have to figure out how to perfect your form when you can’t see yourself in the mirror? And then there’s wearing pink (not the most flattering of colors if you happen to be undead) and that nagging urge to take a little nip out of the other dancers. And worse of all… STAGE FRIGHT!!!

The Vampirina Ballerina Series is recommended for children ages 2-6. The series is written by By Ann Marie Pace and illustrated by LeUyen Pham. My kids loved the funny story and the illustrations! They were also so excited when I told them Vampirina would be starring in her very own Disney Junior show, coming soon!
