I’m always looking for movies that I can watch with my 7 year old son. While he still loves animated films, he’s started to get more interested in live-action movies. I can’t wait to watch The Journey Home with him which is out on DVD now!

When Luke Mercier (Dakota Goyo, Real Steel) heard some noise outside his house, he never could have guessed what he would find.  Discovering a young polar bear cub that has been separated from its mother, Luke knows he has to do something to help. Despite the warnings of his family and friends, Luke speeds off on a snowmobile, with the cub in tow, deep into the frozen wilderness. But when a violent storm closes in, Luke’s mother (Bridget Moynahan, “Blue Bloods”) and family friend Muktuk (Goran Visnjic, “ER”) frantically search for the daring pair as they defy starvation and below freezing temperatures so both boy and bear can complete their own journeys home.

I’ve never had an adventure like this when I was a kid but looking back, I did have adventures in my own way. I loved my childhood and being able to explore my neighborhood like I did. So maybe I did have adventures in my own little way. I think this is going to be a great movie to watch with my son where it teaches you to never give up and how to fight what you believe in.

The Journey Home is now available on DVD at Walmart! I think this will definitely be our next movie for family night.
