If you prefer outdoor pursuits, then Florida has some of America’s best fishing and hunting. You could also go hiking or charter a boat to take you through the Everglades National Park.

Unsurprisingly, Florida’s cuisine is some of America’s best. This is because it is a combination of all of the cuisines of the individual cultures and people that settled in the area. If you are going to go to Florida for food, then avoid eating at big-chain restaurants. To get a real taste of Florida, you have to go to smaller places. With so many blogs and vlogs dedicated to the subject of food these days, it shouldn’t be difficult at all to find a restaurant that you are interested in going to.

Culture

As mentioned previously, Florida’s not short on cultural pursuits for you to take up. However, the best way to learn about Florida’s culture is to get on the ground and speak to the locals. Floridians are extremely friendly and welcoming and have a lot to say. If you are new to the state, getting out into the more rural areas and talking to people is a great way to learn. If you are staying in a city, then head to the inner-city districts and check out small local restaurants and bars. You’re bound to run into some characters!

Season

One last thing to consider is the season of your visit. The earlier in the year that you visit, the cheaper things will be. When spring and summer roll around, prices of everything go up. If you want to get a cheap hotel room and want to participate in fun outdoor activities for a reasonable price, then you need to visit during Florida’s shoulder season. It’s usually best to book hotels over the phone during the shoulder season because online prices might not have been updated to reflect the season.
