Halloween is my absolute favorite time of year. Our whole family gets into the holiday – even our dog, Zoey! We have a very dog friendly neighborhood, so we like to dress her up and take her with us while the kids go trick-or-treating. Since there are so many other dogs in our neighborhood, we like to bring some Milk-Bones with us to give away as treats. After all, it’s fun to treat the pups on Halloween too!
This year, I’m not only putting together a treat jar for dogs around the neighborhood, I’m also putting together a treat jar for the dogs of friends and family. I love to participate in a tradition where we drop candy off at a friend’s house, ring the doorbell and run! This year, I’ll be dropping off these treats for their dogs too. After all, they do tricks for us, we need to give them the treats!
For this project, I decided to stock up on Milk-Bones {both large and small}, Pup-Peroni and Milo’s Kitchen products. Zoey loves Pup-Peroni because real meat is the #1 ingredient and Milo’s Kitchen is home-style dog treats made with 100% real chicken or beef. And no dog can resist a Milk-Bone!
Along with these treats, I bought some mason jars, Halloween Washi tape, bones and some spooky labels from the craft store. All you have to do is put the treats in the jars and then decorate them however you would like! These are such a fun treat to pass out to dogs this Halloween.
As a bonus, I also decided to make some tags to hang around the jar, too. These just complete the whole gift for the most important pets in your friends and family’s lives!

I love when people include their pets in Halloween. This is so much fun – my son would appreciate doing this with our dog too.
I have a Lab pup named Dobby. He’d love to gobble up all of those treats!
We always give Mr. Cooper a Halloween treat too! Haven’t figured out what yet this year, but I love what you did!
I always think of her at Christmas but never Halloween. I should change that this year.
Adorable! What a great sport your doggie is! My dog would not leave anything on her head. She always tried scratching it off. Love the DIY treat jars!
